Importing to Tanzania — FAQ

How long does shipping to Dar es Salaam take?+

Most vehicles reach Dar es Salaam in about 30–40 days after departure, by RoRo or container. We confirm the exact sailing schedule when you book.

What should I know before importing to Tanzania?+

Tanzania sets no fixed age limit, but excise duty rises for vehicles over 10 years old and a JEVIC pre-shipment inspection is mandatory.

What documents will I receive?+

Every shipment to Tanzania includes the Japanese Export Certificate (de-registration) with a certified English translation, a commercial invoice, and the original Bill of Lading. A pre-shipment inspection certificate is added where your port of entry requires one.

Can you arrange pre-shipment inspection (JEVIC / JAAI / QISJ)?+

Yes. We coordinate roadworthiness and pre-shipment inspection with accredited agencies whenever your port of entry requires it, and send the certificate together with the shipping documents.

What is included in the CIF price?+

CIF covers the vehicle (FOB), ocean freight to Dar es Salaam and marine insurance. Import duty, VAT and local clearance in Tanzania are paid on arrival and vary by vehicle — ask us for an estimate.

How do I pay safely?+

Payment is by bank transfer (T/T) to our registered corporate account. We never ask for crypto, personal accounts, or messaging-app-only payments — please read our Payment & Safety page before sending any funds.
