Used Suzuki Wagon R for Export from Japan
The Wagon R invented the tall-boy kei formula: a 660cc footprint with the headroom and door opening of a much larger car. It routinely tops Japan's kei sales charts, so auction supply is effectively unlimited at every grade. Pakistan and Sri Lanka import it as urban family transport; the mild-hybrid versions (2017–) add real-world economy above 25 km/L.
Typical FOB range: $2,500–$6,500
Key facts
- FWD or 4WD; 660cc K6A / R06A; mild-hybrid on MH55 (2017–)
- Best for: urban families, kei-segment trade, tall-passenger comfort
- Stingray trims add turbo power and a resale premium
What to check at auction
Same kei-life checks as the Alto: sill dents, seat wear, chain noise. Mild-hybrid units: verify the lithium pack charges (dash indicator) — replacements are cheap but eat the margin. CVT judder on older MH34 units.
