The V80/V90 generation (2006–2021) pairs Super Select 4WD — usable full-time AWD plus low range — with a 3.2L diesel or 3.0L petrol. It undercuts the Prado noticeably at auction while giving away little in capability, making it the thinking importer's alternative.

What to check at auction
4M41 diesel: injector and EGR condition, and listen for timing-chain notes on early units. Super Select lever engagement through all four modes. Rust on the rear tailgate lower seam is the classic body flag. Parts networks in Africa are strong; in the Americas, thinner.
